Z-Museum in Treungen, Telemark, Norway, is a fascinating cultural and historical museum offering more than 50 thematic exhibitions. Step back in time and explore everything from rare vintage cars to historic hats, antique toys, textiles, oriental carpets, and much more.

Historic Exhibits and Collections

The museum’s displays are updated annually, encouraging many visitors to return year after year. With thousands of rare objects, you can explore:

The Tsar’s Gold Pocket Watch – A Rare Treasure

One of Z-Museum’s most remarkable artifacts is a Swiss-made gold pocket watch created exclusively for the Tsar of Imperial Russia. Only eight were made, one for each general. The only known surviving example can be seen here, accompanied by the dramatic story of how it reached Telemark during the Russian Revolution.

Museum Shop and Café

The museum shop offers souvenirs, collectible items, books, photos, and rare toys, including pedal cars, model cars, and vintage playthings. The cozy café serves hot and cold meals, cakes, and drinks.

Z-Museum is fully wheelchair-accessible, with all exhibitions located on a single floor in a spacious hall. Free parking is available directly outside.

Located at the southern end of Lake Nisser, Z-Museum is surrounded by beautiful Norwegian nature. Approximate driving times:
