About

Kragerø is a summer paradise with its breathtaking archipelago consisting of 495 islands. In Kragerø you have a lot of opportunities to enjoy boating in all forms.

Land meets the sea is Jomfruland. Jomfruland is a moraine ridge that stretches to the sea at both Arendal and Larvik. When sea levels dropped Jomfruland was left with its pebbles. Today Jomfruland is also known for its lovely sandy beaches, beautiful landscapes and great variety in botany, geology and ornithology. Other major islands to visit are Skåtøy, Gumøy, Langøy and Bærø.

Many well-known artists are inspired by Kragerø. Edvard Munch wrote "Kragerø, the pearl of the coastal towns." He lived in Kragerø from 1909-1915, and had a very creative period here.

Kragerø is in itself an attraction with its old wooden houses, narrow alleyways, a warren of stairs, small squares, winding streets, galleries, restaurants and eclectic shops. Here are a marina, a charm already stalls, a nice pier promenade and lots of summer activities like RIB tours etc.

Hit the "pearl of the coastal towns" and discover Kragerø!
