If you are seeking genuine wilderness experiences in Drangedal, Villmarkseventyret (The Wilderness Adventure) is the ultimate destination. This idyllic spot is nestled in the heart of Telemark nature, only 12 kilometers from the historic Telemark Canal. Here you can enjoy large, uninhabited areas, rich wildlife, and incredibly beautiful surroundings with minimal light pollution—perfect for stargazing.

Villmarkseventyret is an excellent base for paddling, cycling, hiking, and pure relaxation.

Accommodation and Facilities

Villmarkseventyret offers comfortable, nature-close accommodation with a fantastic location right by the lake:

• Cabin Rental: We have 8 simple cabins available for rent. The price includes the loan of a canoe and a fishing license.
• Camping and Motorhomes: The site features both a campsite and motorhome parking. Outdoor enthusiasts can walk directly from the parking area into the wilderness.
• Tenting and Hammocks: Designated areas for tents and hammocks are available. The price is 100,- NOK per person (children 0-15 years are free), and this includes a fishing license and access to the sanitary building.

Activities and Guided Experiences

We offer a wide range of outdoor activities and guided tours focused on the nature and local history of Drangedal.

• Wildlife: Several beaver colonies inhabit the area. Take a walk along the waterfront at sunset, or book a guided beaver safari to "safe" viewing spots. We also offer an exciting guided Capercaillie and Black Grouse lek tour.
• Cycling and Peak Hiking: Explore a large selection of routes for peak hiking, cycling on gravel roads, and trail biking. You can cycle alone or book a guide for groups through Fredrik at Villmarkseventyret.
• Fishing: The area offers excellent opportunities for trout fishing. A fishing license is included for all overnight guests, and can be purchased via Vipps for other visitors.
• The Culture Loop: A 15 km cycling route in gently rolling terrain, ideal for viewing local cultural heritage sites such as logging dams, timber cabins, quarries, and crofter's holdings.

The Adventure Trail for Families

For families with children (ages 3-11), the “Eventyrstien” (The Adventure Trail) is a must-do experience. This family-friendly discovery trail is 500 meters long and features 20 stations with exciting tasks and activities. The trail is located near Nakksjø Station, right by County Road 3310.
