Starting Point and Access

The trail starts at Gautefall Ski Centre, a central hub for trail riding in the area.

  • Access: Follow Rv 358 towards Gautefall and take the turnoff for Gautefall Alpinsenter.
  • Parking: Park in the lot at the top of Rytterspranget.

Detailed Trail Description

The trip to Reinsvann is a true adventure on two wheels, delivering an incredible nature experience.

  • Start from the Top: The trail begins at the top of the ski centre and heads towards Reinsvann.
  • Wayfinding: The trail is signposted the entire way and equipped with QR codes for easy navigation.
  • Slickrock Freeriding: Reaching Reinsvann reveals a vast slickrock mountain area where experienced riders can freeride off the marked path and make full use of the unique terrain.
  • Municipal Border: At Reinsvann, you cross the border into Nissedal municipality.
  • Extension into the "Canvas Area": Once in Nissedal, you enter the so-called "Canvas area," where you can choose between several trails and loops. Ride length will vary significantly depending on your choice of route here.

Map and Gear

To navigate the extensive trail network—especially around Reinsvann and the Canvas area—bringing a map is recommended:

  • Map Purchase: Maps can be bought at the Bostrak gas station and Sporten in Treungen.
  • Bike: Due to the challenging terrain and large slickrock sections, a full-suspension trail bike is a huge advantage for increased fun, control, and mastery.
