Melakollen is one of the Ti-topper’n in Siljan and offers beautiful views over Siljan and Midtbygda. On clear days, you can even glimpse the sea beyond the hills to the south and east. The trail passes through open, easily accessible forest terrain, making it ideal for families, beginners, or anyone seeking a short but rewarding hike.
At the summit, you’ll find a trig point called Barduvarden, which marks the highest point and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The trail ranges from easy to slightly challenging sections, especially near the top.
Loop Option (Optional)
From the top, enjoy panoramic views over Siljan village, while the loop provides a more varied forest experience.
By car: Follow Fv. 32 towards Steinsholt, about 1.5 km from Siljan center. Park on the right side just before the cattle grid.
Parking: Large gravel area by the road, same as for Ramsås.
