The cycling route Sommarlandet is an easy to moderate cycling tour that takes you through the heart of Bø in Telemark, offering a unique combination of lush nature, rich Telemark culture, and exciting family attractions. The route provides many opportunities for different experiences, especially if you take your time.
The cycle route is signposted and can easily be started from several accommodations along the way. First Camp Norsjø and Norsjø Hotell are excellent starting points for families.
From Norsjø, you cycle directly into a fantastic fruit landscape in the famous Fruit Valley (Fruktbygda). Thousands of fruit trees ensure an annual production of over 3,000 tonnes of apples and 1,000 tonnes of plums, cherries, and sweet cherries.
From the idyllic fruit landscape, you cycle right past Evju Bygdetu (Village Farm). Here you can stop to experience the old buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries, where every house has its own story.
Back in Bø centre, you can visit Bø Museum. This museum is dedicated to folk music and Telemark culture, and you will often hear the sound of the Harding fiddle both indoors and outdoors.
As a fantastic conclusion to the bike tour, you'll find Bø Sommarland – Europe’s most exciting water attraction for daredevils aged 0 to 100. The park is beautifully situated in a forest area outside Bø centre.
