  • Distance: approx. 4.6 km (circular route)
  • Duration: about 1 hour
  • Elevation gain: 21 m total
  • Difficulty: Easy, wheelchair-friendly
  • Terrain: Slightly hilly forest with gravel path, can be muddy in wet conditions
  • Season: April–November

Trail Description

  • Start at Solvika Café and park at the rear lot
  • Follow the gravel path toward Galtetjern
  • The path rises slightly past a gate (wheelchair accessible) before gently descending to the lake
  • Before reaching the lake, stop at Rubensplass, a well-developed fire pit area by the stream flowing into the lake
  • At Galtetjern, enjoy the wheelchair-accessible fishing pier
  • Optional circular route: walk around the lake and exit at Holtesletta, then follow approx. 300 m along the main road back to the parking area

Note: For manual wheelchairs, having a helper is recommended for the small uphill sections on the return leg.

Getting There by Car

  • From Fylkesvei 32 between Skien and Siljan, drive towards Solvika Café
  • After passing a lake on the left, you will reach the café
  • Park in the large lot behind the café
