Heivannet is known as one of Grenland's most popular freshwater swimming areas in Siljan. The spot attracts visitors with its lovely sandy beach and comfortable grassy areas that invite relaxation and play. Heivannet is known for reaching good swimming temperatures early in the season, and the current water temperature can be checked near the rest area.
The area is classified as very child-friendly with shallow water access and excellent amenities. The beach is located right next to Solvika Camping and Café.
The swimming area also serves as a starting point for wonderful nature experiences in the surrounding forest. There are good opportunities for hikes in the woods around the lake, including a marked hiking trail to popular peaks like Blåfjell and Ristingkollen.
Heivannet is well-equipped in terms of transportation and parking:
Public Transport: There is good public transport access with a bus stop located right by the rest area.
Main Parking: The largest parking capacity is at a large, municipal car park located below the swimming area. Drive towards Siljan Alpinsenter (Ski Centre) – the parking lot is signposted on the left side of the road.
Rest Area Parking: A few spaces are available at the rest area itself, adjacent to an amphitheater facing the water.
Solvika Parking: Please note that the parking area at Solvika Camping and Café is strictly reserved for the café's and campsite's guests.
