Fyresdal Gjestehus, run by the couple Magne and Hege, is more than just a place to stay; it is a living piece of local history. Built in 1887 right in the cozy Folkestadbyen village center, the house has hosted everything from a telephone exchange to a lodging house where a straw bed could once be rented for 10 øre! Feel the history in the walls and let Magne and Hege share the stories with you. Enjoy the lovely, sunny backyard which gives a feeling of being much further south.
We offer a personal and peaceful experience with 8 cozy rooms that reflect the house's history. Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, or with the whole family, we have a room for you.
At Fyresdal Gjestehus, the dining experience is an important part of your stay. We are proud to serve good, homemade food made with love.
We combine a historic and charming setting with a homely atmosphere and personal service. Magne and Hege warmly welcome you to a true home away from home in scenic Fyresdal.
