Bymarka east with Valleråsen offers a varied and good trail network. Here is plenty of room for anyone!
Take the starting point from the parking at Kjølnesparken or the University at Kjølnes. At the start of the road across the ground towards the hill. You will find signs over Bymarka.
From here you can get to both the Waterworks, Valleråsen, Årdalsåsen, Svinholtdammen and Bjerktvedt. The trip to Valleråsen goes on a forest trail with some rocky parts, and is about 2 km in rising terrain with some flat and some steep stretches. Nice view of Porsgrunn and the fjord from the top at 197 m.
