Siloen Gardsbutikk (The Silo Farm Shop) is a unique destination located right by the E134 highway in Åsgrend. Housed in a historic former general store, the building has once again been filled with life. While we still carry everyday essentials, we offer so much more. In our shelves, you will discover locally produced food, farm-fresh goods like eggs and honey, as well as a curated selection of home decor and interior pieces.
The story of Siloen Gardsbutikk began in 2013 at our family farm in Åsgrend. Following a conversation by the barn wall, the idea emerged to open a small shop selling eggs and handmade crafts. We cleared out the old stable, but kept the original grain silo standing—which is where our name, "Siloen," originates.
It didn’t take long before we outgrew the farm premises. In 2017, we moved the shop to the old village general store. After a busy summer of renovations and painting, we opened our doors in these spacious new surroundings. Today, we utilize the entire building to provide a warm and inviting shopping experience.
We are passionate about high-quality products with a conscious footprint. At Siloen, we prioritize:
Siloen is more than just a shop; it’s a place to recharge. We have a professional espresso machine and sweet treats for a quick break. On weekends, the shop is filled with the aroma of our freshly handmade yeast pastries.
On the second floor, you will find our second-hand clothing department for both adults and children—perfect for those who appreciate sustainable fashion and unique finds.
