Welcome to Nisser Hyttegrend & Camping, idyllically situated on the shores of Lake Nisser in Nissedal, Telemark. Here you will find some of Norway’s finest inland sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, smooth granite rocks, and shallow swimming areas perfect for memorable summer days.

Unique Waterfront Accommodation

Whether you prefer a unique cabin experience or classic camping, we have accommodation options suited for everyone:

  • The Stilt Cabin (Pålehytta): Built on wooden stilts directly in the water, featuring a private terrace where you can swim and fish right from your doorstep. Named by The Guardian as one of the top 20 coolest and most unusual holiday rentals in Europe.
  • The Floating Cabin (Flytehytta): A unique experience floating on Lake Nisser, allowing you to catch your own dinner directly from the terrace.
  • Log Cabins & Historic Storehouses: Choose between cozy log cabins, the historic Eldhuset, Store Stabburet (built using local timber), or spacious group accommodations like Yvistøga (sleeps 14) and Storgamma (sleeps up to 25).
  • Drop-in Camping: A 3-star campsite catering to motorhomes, caravans, and tents, equipped with power hookups for 80 vehicles. No advance booking required for camping – we have room for everyone!

Activities and Things to Do

Nisser Hyttegrend & Camping is an ideal base for both relaxation and outdoor adventures in Nissedal:

  • Water Sports & Boating: Rent motorboats, canoes, SUP boards, or jet skis to explore the lake.
  • Fishing & Swimming: Enjoy shallow sandy beaches, small islands, and great trout fishing directly from the docks or by boat.
  • Hiking & Rock Climbing: Short distances to Nissedal’s famous granite rock faces and climbing routes, as well as scenic summit hikes.
  • Cycling & Excursions: Great cycling routes and mountain biking trails nearby (close to Gautefall), plus only 30 minutes to the famous Giant’s Kettles (Jettegrytene).
