About

About

The Sea Serpent Tower (Sjøormtårnet) at Bjørgeøyane in Seljord was opened on October 18, 2011.

The tower is built of wood and stands 17 meters tall, with three viewing platforms. Its design allows light to shine out in the evening, making the tower appear like a glowing periscope in the landscape after dark.

The path leading out to the tower is constructed of wooden walkways built on piles through the wetland. Along the trail, there are benches where you can sit and rest.

Seljord was not on our traveling list except for a place to stop after a long day of driving. This small village was a lovely find with a legend of a sea serpent that lives in the town's lake. The... Read full review

This tower has a surprisingly good view. And a really cool concept looking for the monster in the lake. There is a good trail from the parking, and also places for picnic etc. Read full review
