Porsgrunn's cultural grand hall opened in autumn 2013 and has since then brought a large volume of concerts and performances to the city. Ælvespeilet is a permanent venue for the Riksteatret and a favorite venue for local actors in various forms of performing arts. With a great location along the river bank and its own kitchen, the cultural center is also a popular venue for conferences and events.
In the cultural center also maintains Grenland Kunsthall, a display arena that aims to engage a wide audience through the production and dissemination of contemporary art.
