About

The Culture-trail "kulturstien" is a heritage trail at Gumøy that is 3km/2 miles long and follows the golf course is a great way to get better acquainted with Gumøy.
On the island you will find among other old ice dams, dolomite mines, garden soil and pasture landscapes, old thoroughfares, stone fences, golf course and picnic areas. Along the path there will be information boards about the place. Tablets discusses topics like old local place names, history, fauna and geology. Maps of the trail can be found hanging at ferry port at Tangane and at the Golf Club center at Kvernmyra. Follow the blue marks and cairns. Please close gates and pay attention to plants and animals!

The tour takes about 1 hour. The landscape is varied and the terrain is uneven. Wheelchair users and those with prams should stick to the road.

(Please note that the cultural trail over Tranbærmyra to the Sveivdokk farm may be closed in April-May because of lambing.)
