About

This year’s event will take place at Selstali Seter in Tinn, beautifully situated beneath the majestic Gaustatoppen mountain.

Marit Røysland and Håvard Vågen are the third generation to continue uninterrupted summer farming operations at Selstali. They process the milk from their cows right on the mountain pasture and are renowned for their excellent traditional dairy products and outstanding sour cream porridge (rømmegrøt). Marit’s mother, Nanfrid Røysland, worked as the dairymaid at Selstali for many years and played a key role in developing both the food production and hospitality offered at the farm. Before Nanfrid, Marit’s grandmother, Margit Røysland, served as the dairymaid there.

It is a great pleasure for Vest-Telemark and Telemark Bonde- og Småbrukarlag to welcome visitors to another Mountain Pasture Day at this historic summer farm. We are especially delighted that both the Minister of Agriculture and the Chair of the Norwegian Farmers’ and Smallholders’ Union will be joining us this year as well.

A warm welcome to all — we’re sure everyone will leave Selstali well-fed and thoroughly satisfied!
