This is a tailor-made course that combines nature, mastery, and relaxation – perfect for those who want to learn basic kayaking techniques in a safe setting, surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Kvitåvatn isn’t a lake for long-distance paddling expeditions – but it's rich in detail and atmosphere. Here, you'll discover hidden coves and corners, mountains and reflections, and a constantly shifting light and landscape. It's a place that invites you to paddle again and again, in different weather and across the seasons.
It’s the perfect starting point for kayaking, located right by two saunas, with easy access to a warm indoor pool, floating saunas, delicious food at the restaurant, and a quiet hotel room to retreat to.
Most people experience Gaustatoppen on foot – but here, you’ll get the chance to see it from an entirely new perspective. Paddling beneath Gaustatoppen is a unique and memorable experience – and for many, a surprising highlight.
On Thursday evening, we ease into the experience with an introduction, equipment overview, and a social gathering on and around the water. We'll enjoy the evening by beautiful Kvitåvatn, just a stone’s throw from Gaustablikk Fjellresort.
On Friday, you’ll take part in the mandatory 4-hour introductory kayaking course, which qualifies you for the Våttkort certification. We'll paddle on the lake, practice techniques, and take a well-deserved lunch break at a scenic spot along the shoreline. All necessary equipment – including kayak, drysuit, and safety gear – is included.
The course is led by Tine Raisbæk, an experienced and passionate instructor who prioritizes safety, learning, and the joy of paddling.
Practical Information:
The course is suitable for adults and youth aged 16 and over. Maximum 10 participants per group.
Available during weeks 26, 28, and 30.
