Brevik is something unique and must be experienced. Narrow streets between old wooden houses, makes this small city very popular. Most of the houses are buillt after the city fire in 1761 and 1800. The old Customs House and the old City Hall, today Brevik Museum, are typical examples of this.
At “Sylterøya” you can see one of the country's best-preserved wooden houses. The "Battery" is located at the outer edge of Sylterøya. The place has a long history and it was here, among other things, the mail robber Ole Berg was beheaded on May 19 October 1838. During World War II the Germans built a large bunker here.
If you get tired, you can always sit down to enjoy the city's famous ice cream or pizza. At the same time you can enjoy the view of Brevik's beautiful harbor pool and idyllic fiord.
