Porsgrunn has many bathing place.

Right by the riverbank, just north of the city center, you will find Osebakken bathing place. A little gem by the river Porsgrunn, with sandy beach, lawn, toilets and opportunities for grilling. There is also a sauna, Osedampen, but you must book place in the sauna.
A short drive from the city center, by the Eidangerfjord, is Olavsberget bathing place and bathing area. Here you can enjoy both a sandy beach and grass area. Here you will also find the area's only diving tower. If you cross the bridge to the island, Kattøya, you will find several nice bathing places to choose from. Both Røra and Brønnstadbukta are located by the Eidangerfjord and are popular bathing spots.

Out in the skerries are the islands in a row; Langøya, Bjørkøya, Håøya, Sandøya, Oksøya, Siktesøya and more. On these islands you will find shallow, sandy beaches, grasslands, idyllic small bays, and coves and boulders that are nice and family-friendly.
