Experience innovative and engaging contemporary art at Telemark Art Center (Telemark Kunstsenter / TKS) in Skien! As a regional, artist-run center of expertise for visual arts, TKS is housed in the historic former Norges Bank building from 1849. Across two floors, you will find 270 square meters of exhibition space, an art shop, workshops, and unique cultural experiences.

TKS promotes contemporary art created by living artists, with a strong commitment to freedom of expression, diversity, and inclusion:

• Exhibitions: 5 dynamic exhibition periods per year featuring 270 sq meters of space spread across two floors.
• Art Shop: Purchase original art and fine crafts from regional and Norwegian artists.
• Art Lab & TKS UNG: Creative workshops, youth clubs, and engaging art activities tailored for children and young adults.
• Vault Cinema: A unique mini-cinema located inside the original 1849 bank vault.
• Triennial & Publishing: Co-owner of the Greenlight art triennial and publisher of art books through TKS FORLAG.

Community Engagement (TKS NABO) & Art Consultancy

As a member of the national network Arts Centers in Norway (KiN), TKS serves as the region’s primary expertise center for visual art:

• Inclusion (TKS NABO): Through our neighborhood initiative, we actively collaborate with the local community to make art accessible and welcoming to everyone.
• Consultancy Services: We assist both public institutions and private companies with public art commissions and corporate workspace art curation.
• Guided Tours & Purchases: We offer customized guided tours, art purchasing guidance, and expert advice.
