The island "Lille Arøya" is one of the islands belonging to an idyllic island group located at the outermost part of Langesundsfjorden.
The island has two ferry docks, Fiskebrygga and Melkeplassen, which are connected by a short, yet unmarked, path spanning only 500 meters.
Fantastic swimming opportunities
The bay "Linnabukta", facing west, is a great place for hiking or swimming. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful nature and take a refreshing dip. For those seeking a different swimming experience, it is a good alternative to swim from the low rocks at Arøyskjæra.
Scenic views and cultural heritage
The highest point on the island is "Kollen," reaching up to 41 meters above sea level. From the top of Kollen, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the area. Additionally, an ancient burial mound can be found there, serving as an interesting cultural heritage site that bears witness to the island's history and heritage.
Bukkespranget
On the sea route between Fiskebrygga and Melkeplassen, one will discover Bukkespranget. This is a place where the ferry slowly and carefully maneuvers between steep cliffs.
The old guardhouse is now a customs museum, with artefacts found there from long ago.
