
Hanakamjuvet is beautifully located in Kivledalen above Seljord town centre and is a popular recreational area both in summer and winter. In good weather, you can enjoy great views over Seljord and Lake Seljord (Seljordsvatnet), where the legendary sea serpent is said to live.
There is a well-accessible road leading up to the area, along with parking facilities. We recommend driving up Gullnesvegen towards Kivledalen.

Hanakamjuvet in Seljord is an easy, family-friendly circular hike of about 4 km, perfect for a one-hour walk in beautiful surroundings. Along the trail, you can experience waterfalls, historical sites, gorges, and scenic viewpoints overlooking Seljord.
The hike starts from the parking area along Gullnesvegen. From the parking area, walk a short distance back along the road, turn right, and follow the signs towards Hanakamjuvet.
To make it a nice round trip, turn right when you reach the road again and follow it back to the parking area.
An alternative option is to follow the forest trail on the north side of Hanakamjuvet back to the parking area.
Hanakamjuvet is part of Kivledalen, an area rich in both natural beauty and cultural history, making it a great destination for visitors of all ages.
From the town centre, follow Gullnesvegen up towards Kivledalen. This is an easily accessible road that takes you into the inner parts of Kivledalen, not far from Seljord centre.
Park in an available lay-by along the road or at the designated parking area.
Walk back a short distance along the road, turn right, and follow the signs towards Hanakamjuvet. Along the way, you can experience waterfalls, historical sites, gorges, and scenic viewpoints.
To complete a circular route, turn right when you meet the road and follow it back to the parking area. The road passes through several beautiful natural areas.
