About

Bolkesjø Gaard is a family-run farm at the foot of Blefjell in Telemark. The farm is surrounded by forests and lakes, with beautiful hiking trails and good opportunities for fishing, swimming and all that the forest has to offer.

Different types of accommodation - all close to nature
Bolkesjø Gaard offers different types of accommodation, all close to nature and unique in their own way. At Stabburet you have the opportunity to wake up in a four-poster bed, with fantastic views of the Telemark mountains. At Seteren, or Stulen as it is called locally, you are in the middle of the forest far from people. While Stallen on the homestead Jonrud, is idyllically located by beautiful Follsjø - the perfect water for swimming and fishing. In the summer of 2022, you can also spend the night in an exclusive glamping tent at the shore of lake Follsjø.

Charm and tranquility and simple pleasures close to nature
How about taking the kids on a blueberry walk in the woods? Or a romantic weekend for two, alone in the woods? And nothing is better than grilling your own fish for dinner! All places are equipped with outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities. Here you get the opportunity to get a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and appreciate simple pleasures close to nature.

Long traditions - old timber buildings and beautiful storage cages
There are long traditions for tourism on Bolkesjø, here it has been a shuttle station since 1624. During the national romanticism, Bolkesjø was referred to as "The tourist gate to the wonderland" - when people wanted to explore the wild nature and culture in Telemark. The local environment around the farm is still reminiscent of old times, here there are old timber buildings and beautiful storage cages. The firehouse on the farm is the oldest in the area and dates to the 13th century.
