The farm consists of several buildings and cottages, and includes approximately 10000 acres of land.
Eldhuset is one of the oldest buildings on the farm, and was originally used as a smokehouse for preparation of food. The building has been renovated and is available for rent with the following facilities: - Two bedrooms with a total of eight beds. - Kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee-machine. - Bathroom with WC, shower, and a machine to wash clothes. - Living room with fireplace, couches, and TV with some international channels. - Porch with a beautiful view of the valley of Fyresdal, the city center, and a mountain were the sun sets.
Five minutes walk from the farm is the lake Fyresvatn. A boat is available for fishing or relaxation, and is free of charge. There are also a lot of small lakes in the mountains where it is possible to fish for trout.
In the city center, which is also located five minutes from the farm, there is a park with historical buildings, grocery stores, a sports shop, and a pub/cafe. Additionally, both football fields and playgrounds are available.
Hiking is probably the main activity in Fyresdal. Mountains up to 1300 meters above sea level may be reached by following one of many paths that are clearly marked. The Tourist Information Office may be helpful with maps and experienced advice.
Eldhuset is available for rent from April to November.
