First Camp Telemark has a large selection of canoes and kayaks for rent. We are located about 200 meters from Lunde lock, which is a hub for the canal boats on the Telemark Canal.
On request, we offer transportation of people and equipment, guided tours and paddling courses.
Paddling on the Telemark Canal is suitable for all age groups and skill levels, choose a few hours trip or several days trip. The canal is unique with old lock systems that are great to look at and still open manually, it is a combination of large water and narrow canal stretches and alternation between untouched nature and cultural landscape.
There are facilities for carrying equipment past the locks, but for those who wish, you can be locked through in a canoe/kayak during the high season.
Finish the trip with a meal at Lunde Slusekro, or take a walk in Lunde lock park, which has play and swimming facilities.
Visit Bø sell the paddling map for the Telemark Canal and are happy to send it by post if you wish. This map is also marked with possible places to stay along the canal, both free camping and accommodation. The map costs kr. 239,- + postage. If you wish to receive free brochures in addition to the paddling map, such as Telemarkskanalen, Sommerguiden and pocket maps of Telemark, extra postage will be charged.
