About

Looking for an idyllic and safe playground for your children in Skien? The Playground in Brekke Park (Brekkeparken) offers a clear, manageable, and completely car-free environment where children can play freely while parents relax in beautiful, historic surroundings.

Brekke Park is owned by the foundation Telemark Museum and operates as a fenced open-air museum. This makes the park a comfortable and controlled setting to spend a few lovely hours for both young and old.

Activities and Experiences for Children

Brekke Park is filled with tailored family activities throughout the season:

  • Fun Play Areas: Plenty of space for running, playing, and exploring in a safe environment.
  • Museum Activities: Join the Park Detective hunt, creative workshops, children's guided tours, and the popular Karsten and Petra play exhibition.
  • Seasonal Events: Experience exciting events throughout the summer and autumn months, such as the popular Halloween celebration Skrekkeparken ("Fright Park").

Food, Picnics, and Cafés

Enjoying a meal during your visit to Brekke Park is easy:

  • Picnics on the Lawn: You are warmly welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a picnic on the park's green lawns.
  • Summer Cafés: If you prefer to buy food, Brekkeparken Kafé and Kafé Aall Inn offer everything from ice cream, hot dogs, and soft drinks to delicious sandwiches and full dinners during the summer season.
