About

Løveid guest harbor in the district of Skotfoss in Skien has 7 waiting places. Position: N59 12,729 E009 31,962. Mooring: fixed mooring. Free port tax. The marina offers service facilities with showers and toilets that are open during the leisure boating season, all days 9 am to 6 pm.

The sailing route from Skien to Løveid
The sailing route from Skien goes via Hjellevannet to Fareelva and Meierelva up towards Løveid. On the way up, the Elstrøm Bridge is passed with a clear sailing height of 16 metres. The waiting bridge is on the starboard side below the bascule bridge at the entrance to Løveid Lock. It is a good idea to show up in Løveid before 4 pm due to scheduled boat passage. Be careful and follow the seal leader when you go out into Norsjø - some stick too much to starboard and run aground.

A short drive to the center of Skotfoss
It is approx. 500 m from the wharf/lock to the center of Skotfoss with a grocery store.

Nice hiking areas at Skotfoss and Løveid
Great hiking suggestions are the cave Mikaelshulen and the Culture Trail Skotfosstien. A visit to Gamle Union Bruk is a must.
