Skorve is one of the highest mountains in Seljord, with two peaks: Mount Gøysen (1,370 m) and Mount Nordnibba (1,365 m). During WWII two planes crashed into the mountain.
The church was built in the romanesque style at some time in the 12th century. It is dedicated to St Olav. On the north-west corner of the church a face has been hewn. This, according to legend, represents the saint king.
