Experience one of Norway’s most unique cycling routes. Follow the Telemark Canal through locks, lakes and charming small towns. Break the journey into shorter stages and discover local history, delicious baked goods, locally grown fruit and beautiful scenery along the way.
Why explore the Telemark Canal by bike?
The Telemark Canal is more than a waterway or a cycling route – it’s a journey through Norwegian history, surrounded by beautiful scenery and experiences you can enjoy at your own pace.
The route is well suited to a multi-day cycling trip, with varied terrain, manageable climbs, plenty of places to stop and several accommodation options along the way.
This route is particularly well suited to those who:
- Want an active holiday without overly demanding cycling
- Enjoy combining cycling with culture and local food
- Prefer planned stages rather than organising the entire route themselves
