This year-round, 3-star family campsite offers 12 cabins and ample space for caravans, motorhomes, and tents. A unique feature is the historic tent area right by the lakeshore, in use since 1954, providing an exceptional connection to Lake Tinn.
Sandviken Camping features modern facilities, including three sanitary buildings with accessible and family rooms, as well as a well-equipped and welcoming guest kitchen with views of the lake and both indoor and outdoor seating. Continuous upgrades are made to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.
One of the highlights is the wood-fired sauna by the water, open all year, offering a unique combination of warmth and refreshing swims in Lake Tinn.
The campsite is also an ideal base for exploring the region. From here, you can start hiking directly, enjoy a playground for children, and relax at scenic fire pits by the lake. Nearby attractions include Skirvedalen, Gausta Ski Resort, Gaustatoppen and the Gaustabanen railway, the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum, and Hardangervidda National Park.
Located approximately 30 km east of Rjukan town centre, Sandviken Camping is a perfect base for both short and extended stays in Telemark. For more activities and inspiration, visit visitrjukan.com.
