Kragerø Kunstforening presents an exhibition of oil paintings by Kristin T Stuestøl from July 16 to August 2. Stuestøl is an artist based in Hvaler with a solid background from both California and Norway.
Why the title “Centered Horizons”? In the United States, she was told: “Never center a horizon.” But there are no rules in art — so that is exactly why.
Her work strives for a painterly and sensual expression. Something familiar, even within unknown landscapes. Something in the light, the colours, the atmosphere that resonates with the viewer and awakens memories . A faint but familiar scent, a light you feel drawn into, something that creates a sense of belonging.
