About

Welcome to our unique DNT holiday houses. Here at the island Jomfruland, you can spend the night in lovely surroundings throughout the year.

The Old Øitangen farm is transformed into a tranquil place to spend a night.
The Øitangen Holiday Houses are surrounded by beautiful nature in the north-eastern part of Jomfruland and are operated by DNT Øitangen. DNT Øitangen is run by DNT Telemark (The Norwegian Trekking Association - Telemark).
The area is 16000 m2 and consists of 4 buildings for rent. Here you can rent all houses, one house or just a few of them , or rent only a room and / or bed. We warmly welcome institutions and private persons to Øitangen all year through.

In the area there are good roads and trails for walking, cycling, for wheelchair users  and prams.
Right next to our Øitangen Holiday Houses you'll find an attractive sand beach that is also handycap accessible. There is a pier for large and small boats.
There is a nature and culture path that connects Øitangen with Tårnbrygga (ferry terminal) and the lighthouses.
Further on this island there are art exhibitions, restaurants, the summer shop Sjarm, service building, small pier (at Tårnbrygga) and in the summer season the old lighthouse is open for visits.  At Tårnbrygga you´ll find another nice sand beach and also this recreation area is accessible for wheelchairs and prams.

At Jomfruland you can take part in a unique natural and cultural landscape. The island has a rich variation of bird- and wildlife, plants and flowers. Be aware of the free walking cows and the wild sheeps.

There are special driving rules for cars on the island. Day tourists and visitors are not allowed to bring a car to  Øitangen, Jomfruland. Please park your car in mainland, either in Kragerø or Valle. (Unless if you have a handycap permit).
