Telemark is located in the South of Norway and has very god connections within Norway itself as well as abroad thanks to the express bus network, the airports Skien Lufthavn and Sandefjord Torp, the train connection to Oslo and the highway E18 alongside the coast as well as the E134 from Oslo via the upper part of Telemark until Vestlandet.

The road net in Telemark is dominated by the two highways E18 and E134 which are crossing the province from east to west. Where as the E18 is following the coast from Oslo down to Kristiansand and further to Stavanger is the E134 passing through the upper part of Telemark on to Hardanger and Haugesund.

The range of railway connections involves the Sørlandsbanen with Nordagutu and Bø as main stations as well as the Vestfoldbanen from Skien and Porsgrunn through Vestfold and further to Oslo. Thanks to the extended express bus network one can reach every part of the province.

There are flight connections from Skien airport Geiteryggen to Bergen and Stavanger
