In the coastal zone there are small coves and bays, bathing beaches, shorts and swallows which are good for swimming and fishing. On the north end there is a free area with for bathing, large grassland and opportunities for tenting. Løvøya is known for the founding of thoritt, which was found here in the late 1820´s. From mid June to early August there are daily departures from Brevik to Løvøya with the Fjordboatene ( ferry)
