Villa Bergland

About

This amazing venerable old house was built in 1868 and is surrounded by history, has a large garden and is very child friendly. The banquet facilities can cater for up to 120 guests indoor. It is the perfect location for weddings, confirmations, christenings, meetings and any other social occasion.

The café is open every day offering a rich and varied menu to choose from. It is spacious with seatings indoor as well as outside. The menu has been carefully designed by the experienced chef, focusing on locally grown ingredients. Affordable prices (medium)

Villa Bergland was built by in 1868 by the citys honorable sheriff O.B. Olsen, and has been owned by mayors and shipowners since then, and also been used as everything from bible school to maid school.

The house has been very well maintained and the owner Tor Alf Jørgensen received the prize for best restored building by Kragerø municipality in 1996. The word in town is that “half of Kragerø” has married at Villa Bergland, with its fantastic location in comfortable distance from the busy summer city of Kragerø. The gardens are large and very well appreciated by families with small children.

The recent owners Therese Thorén and Kjetil Halvorsen bought Villa Bergland in 2017 and is with that the 12th generation owners of Villa Bergland. Their ambition is to continue to offer a varied and tasty menu, focusing on locally grown ingredients as well as buying all meat and fish locally. There is also a good selection of wines to choose from for your meal.

If you are two or more persons we recommend you to try the house specialty Tea for Two. It is a rack of three levels filled up with a range of delicacies such as mini club sandwiches, petit fours, smoked steak, grilled scampi, varied sweets and more. And many guests opt for a glass of bubbles to accompany their Tea for Two. If you want something simpler you can have a tasty home made pizza or a traditional freshly made Cesar Salad.

Villa Bergland caters not only for wedding parties but you will find that any occasion worth celebrating will be even more amazing, whether you are celebrating with friends, family or work. Contact them for details and a custom made suggestion on how to make your celebration as great as it deserves. And please keep an eye on their Facebook page when planning a visit to make sure it is open for the public and not hosting a private party.

Welcome!
