The Mountain Regions

The mountains offer peace and quiet in magnificent surroundings.

The Hardanger mountain plateau is the biggest in Northern Europe. The area is rich in fishing, animal life and flora. At the Hardangervidda National Park Center visitors can study the nature and wild life more closely.

The highest mountain in Telemark is Mount Gausta, 1.883m and from the top you can see one sixth of Norway on a clear day.

In Rjukan and Rauland stone paths lead up to nice viewpoints and are accessible for the whole family.

In mid-Telemark you can enjoy walks in the large orchards and enjoy local food, apple cider and also visit art galleries.

Western Telemark offers fantastic nature experiences from Fyresdal, Nissedal and Vrådal to Rauland and the high mountain plateau.

Visit the mountains of Telemark with stunning nature, adventures and fun activities.
