Lifjell is the southernmost mountain plateau and is located in the very heart of the Telemark province with only a short distance from major suburban areas in southern Norway and only 2 hours from Oslo, Østfold, Drammen, Buskerud and 1.5 hours from Vestfold away. Lifjell has ever been a popular tourist destination since the mid 1950's. With the construction of Lifjell Ski Centre in 1960-70 Lifjell also became a very popular destination for winter tourists.

It is only a short distance to the center of Bø with shopping opportunities and urban cafes. Gullbring cultural center with indoor swimming facilities, theater and cinema is a good option for rainy days.
